Erik Brisson has been fascinated by algorithmic processes to produce shapes since childhood. The idea of giving customers the power to engage in the design process in an intuitive way - through a series of choices - has been on his mind for a number of years. He founded Emergent Designs Systems LLC to bring these techniques into the marketplace.
Erik moved to New York City to work as a Technology Advisor and Developer at nTopology, Inc. He has worked in four high-tech startups; at Boston University he worked as a Research Scientist in the Center for Computational Neuroscience and Neural Technology and served as Associate Director of the Scientific Computing and Visualization Group; and he held the post of Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Amherst College and Wellesley College. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle.
